I just turned autoclean back on, as there was too many old packages on my system, then emerged the new version of qt, and now 'emerge' won't run, citing | Quote: | | error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory |
. How can I manually install the required library, as obviously I can't just emerge it?

I had the exact same problem. Searched the forums and found this answer courtesy of totengraeber:

try to run "ldconfig"
this should fix it
