i have my distfiles in /home/distfiles
so i make a symlink from that location to /usr/portage/distfiles , but
Code: |
emerge rsync --clean
|
deletes the symlink. How do i avoid this? _________________ Best regards

Hmmm... I have /usr/portage/distfiles linked to an nfs-mounted filesystem and have no problems with 'emerge --clean rsync'. I have 4 machines using the same distfiles and haven't noticed a problem with any of them. |

Well, the --clean option is actually supposed to clean up the portage tree, so it could have also removed your symlink...have you recently updated portage?
Anyway, you could try an emerge rsync, without the --clean option, see if that helps. |
