|
|
Hi!
I am running an nforce2 nf7-s v2, and am trying to get digital audio working (spdif).
I have the card drivers installed, it is using the i810_audio driver (nforce2 ac97). It is apearantly using the analog out, and does not want to use the optical spdif output.
I've checked on numerous sites, saying that you need to specify the 'spdif_audio=1' but I have no idea where, and in what capacity I would specify that option. I've tried doing a:
modprobe spdif_audio
with no dice.
If someone could please inform me how to finally get my digital sound working I'd be greatful.
I really don't feel like using analog in linux, and having to switch connections back just to use windows.
Also, if there is anything I might have left out about my setup please feel free to ask.
thanks in advance. _________________ --Hamking |

what driver are you using? spdif is not supported under alsa yet, but is supposed to be supported with nvidia's driver _________________ Kororaa install method - have Gentoo up and running quickly and easily, fully automated with an installer! |

I started using ALSA but swapped to the nvidia driver.. I found them to much more responsive.. and less load on the machine.. _________________ 2800+XP A7N8X FX6600GT

well, I downloaded the latest drivers from nvidia. the ones that said they supported S/PDIF, so I believe I would just need to edit that file, and I will finally have digital sound w0000000t!
thanks! I'll try it out later today (its actually my friends computer) and tell you how it goes. _________________ --Hamking |
