I have the latest Kernel sources (2.4.20-R5) and am trying to patch it with acpi patch acpi-20021212-2.4.20.diff.gz from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=36832, but it comes up with errors patching and mucks up the kernel sources. Is this the right patch? I don't see a 2.4.20-R5 patch listed. Any ideas? The whole goal of this is to get the battery stuff working on my Presario 1400T laptop. Enabling the acpi kernel stuff in the default kernel doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? |

I would assume that you mean gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r5? If so, it should already be patched with one of the newer ACPI patchsets. You might want to
Code: | emerge vanilla-sources |
...and then try patching the kernel. |

the vanilla-sources are the original kernel sources you can get from www.kernel.org
the gentoo-sources e.g. are modified sources that provide more performance... |
