I have a Netra X1, which I'm building a firewall of - running Gentoo Linux on mirrored disks etc, but I'm facing a mysterious problem, which I just can't understand - if I can copy a single file to local HD's or to USB-stick over the network, it will be extremely slow. I can use the machine over SSH with no problem, so the network is working. I can copy files from my laptop to USB-stick, move the stick physically to Netra and copy the files from the USB-stick to local HD's with no problem, so RAID (Linux software-RAID) and local disks should be working.

Any ideas, anyone?

So far I've tried Rsync (over SSH), scp, simple cp-over-NFS in both directions (ie. commanded my server or laptop to copy to sparc and commanded my sparc to copy from my server or laptop) and wget from various places. The problem remains the same: if the file comes from the network, for 90% sure it won't get to local disk.

I also checked my switch, there's no errors seen on the network link. I've also tried various cables, both NIC's individually and right now they are bonded together, equipped with VLAN's and the switchports are configured to be trunks.
