quick question:
Emerge kopete gives kopete0.41...I wonder.....is kopete 0.5 in portage tree allready. If so, how to install.

Because .41 shows up, if .5 is available, it would be masked. You can check in the apropriate /usr/portage directory to see if there is a .5 ebuild. If there is, you might do a search to find out how others have installed masked packages.

/usr/portage/net-im/kopete has a 0.5, but it's masked using the KEYWORD ~x86 so just "# " that line out in the ebuild and update your heart out.

Hmmmm, what does KEYWORD do? I can look it up myself, but since you know allready, perhaps you can enlighten me?

i'm sorry, but i don't know my way around these error messages. If someone can help me to read them so i can find the cause of the error....never to old to learn, especially when 28 <grin>
