|
Each time when I boot to system w/ udevd start at sysinit level, the monitor will turn off and I can't switch to other tty.
The system is still running, and can be resetted by ctr+alt+del.
I removed it from the sysinit level, and the system can boot, but the monitor will turn off when I run /etc/init.d/udevd start
I remove all the udev rules, and no help.
the last line shown on the screen is:
Code: | Populating /dev with existing devices ..... |
Can any one help me? I don't want to reinstall the system as it's my media center and data server. |

sounds more like a xorg-server/display manager/window manager/desktop problem. Which ones (with version numbers) are you using?
if you are trying to boot directly into a GUI suggest you change to boot to a CLI while troubleshooting. e,g,; remove xdm from default run level. |

I don't have an XDM installed, and I removed gdm from default initialize list. And set the defualt init level to 3. And seems no good.
The monitor will not be turned off unless I run udevd start. But since I removed udevd from sysinit list, many devices can't work. |
