cciss on parisc64

Does anybody have any experience with these compaq array cards ( Smart Array Controller 5300 in my case ) on a hppa64 machine ?

The cciss module loads fine, until it attempts to request the firmware version of the board with a CISS_INQUIRY command in sendcmd() .

The module loops through pollcomplete for 2 or 3 times before the machine HPMC's, so it looks like the board is trying to DMA write to a memory location it isn't supposed to. I've already upgraded the firmware on the 5300 using another machine ( w2K3 ) and the board seems ok.
