I have vmware-server 1.0.7.108231 installed. The vmware daemon is started by /etc/init.d/vmware. I run "vmware" command, connected to localhost and created new virtual machine for Win XP 32 bit. I set the following parameters for it:
RAM - 1024 (there are 4096 MB total on my PC)
"Allow some virtual machine memory to be swapped" - "yes"
Once I press "Power On" button for new virtual machine (there is no Win XP installed yet), my system hungs. Keyboard is not working, mouse working very-very slow. I was unable to press button "Power Off" for virtual machine by mouse, because this button was disabled. I had to press reset. There is no matter if I run vmware by user or by root.
My system is:
anahata@faust ~ $ uname -a
Linux faust 2.6.24-gentoo-r4 #17 SMP Wed Sep 10 00:50:50 EEST 2008 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
Please, advise |
