[solved]error mounting /dev/ROOT, fstab included

I cant find the original post for some reason, so it is again

Im installing gentoo 2008 in a SATA disk, partitioned in the following way: sda1 winxp, sda2 for boot, sda3 for /. The partitions were created with graphical installer, but it failed when tried to install the kernel, so I had to continue installation manually.

My grub line looks like this:

root (hd0,1)
kernel /boot/bzImage root=/dev/sda3

When I boot I get this error:

fsck.ext3: No such file or directory while trying to open /dev/ROOT
/dev/ROOT:
The superblock could not be read or does not describe a correct ext2 filesystem.

sda3 contains files and I can access it properly.

this is /etc/fstab

/dev/BOOT /boot ext2 noauto,noatime 1 2
/dev/ROOT / ext3 noatime 0 1
/dev/SWAP none swap sw 0 0
