hi. I have a problem with throttling my laptop. By default (through the bios) it is throttled by 50% when the charger is not pluged in. I wanted to see how far I could throttle it down though and still smothly play a dvd. However, every time I change the throttling to a higher percentage, it reverts back to 50% a few seconds later. To change the throttling, I am using the following command.
echo 6 > /proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/throttling
Some other possibly important facts are...
Laptop:Sager 5670
Processor:Pentium 4 3.06ghz w/HT enabled
Kernel Version:2.6.0-test2 (mm sources)
Window Manager:KDE
Thanks in advance for any input. |
