ya, nice bug
Opened: 2008-06-30 21:57 0000
seems like they coulda fixed it in the -r1 release.
it was made almost a month after bug report?
oh well, friend told me to add -berkdb to make.conf
rebuilt a bunch without the 'Berkeley DB' enabled.
but all seems good now.
not sure what all uses it?
thankz

As a virtual N00b (Perhaps Gentoo isn't really for N00bs???) I've read the following from http://www.gentoo-wiki.info/HOWTO_MySQL
Quote: | Installing MySQL 5.0.54 and 5.0.60-r1 was failing for me due to berkdb flag - after removing the flag emerge passed. As berkdb is not set in make.conf, package.use nor profile/make.defaults - I'm not sure where it is getting it from, but adding 'dev-db/mysql -berkdb' to /etc/portage/packages.use worked. |
but an emerge -pv mysql still shows '[ebuild N ] dev-db/mysql-5.0.60-r1 USE="berkdb ....'
So I'm still right to apply the work around, yes? |

If you read the bug, you'd know it's been already fixed. |

But if you read my post the fact that it may well be fixed isn't obvious to the uninitiated.
The Gentoo Wiki's broken and the docs that Google turns up in the first hits is ambigious.
Hence the question. |
