I[ve installed on my ASUS laptop vi but if i try to run it I got a segmentation fault error.
What can I do?

Do:
before you start vi. It seems to dislike the terminal set to 'linux'. Alternatively, emerge vim, which is generally nicer and more featureful (moving around correctly with arrow keys in insert mode, e.g.)
