sleepless nights.
Ou well, here we go...
I have got two cards. One is hda-intel built into mobo. turned off in bios and modules are not loaded in. I dont care about it if i can make second work.
Second - usb-audio. It does work. But problem is - how? It works "halfduplex", i can only record or only playback using it. I have gone onto IRC about it, some people claimed issue is with my USB host controller or generally smth wrong with USB. Fair enough. Booted into live disk of Ubuntu, run ekiga, works fine, in test i can hear myself and speak into microfon. It's designed to give 4 seconds latency, i can hear myself with delay of 4 seconds. Did it twice, work twice, so its not hardware issue, or at least not something that is usolvable.
I have tryed older kernel, same story, tryed newer kernel, same story, same error messages, tryed vanilla kernel, same story...
Tryed .asoundrc, nothing usefull, deleted .asoundrc from system, same story...
I have compiled alsa modules into kernel, and it failed pretty miserably.(sorry, no output)
tryed to install alsa-drivers package, didnt help for same reasons. uninstalled it all together and using.
Before problem has sharply arisen before me - i had from time to time issue with recording, but after messing with mixer recording copabilities returned to me and worked... Still it was giving me troubles.
