We will quite probably be staying with gnome-session-2.22 until session saving feature is reintroduced. 2.24 will probably still be available in portage tree, but package.mask'ed with the appropriate message about the caveats.

In short I suggest downgrading to gnome-session-2.22.x and reporting to bugzilla any problems you have with using gnome-session-2.22 on an otherwise GNOME-2.24 system (gdm can/should be older as well, at 2.20.x) because we want to know about them and fix them as our default GNOME-2.24 desktop will probably not ship gnome-session-2.24 for now, as stated above.

Merci encore!!!
