All the man pages in tty terminals and also in kde show the ESC[0 and similar formatting codes as raw stuff.
This makes the man pages close to unreadability. Where should I look for the problem?

Remerging man, man-pages, man-pages-posix didn't help. Terminals have color otherwise.
I'm using OpenRC if that helps. Service consolefont is in boot and running, /etc/conf.d/consolefont says consolefont="lat9w-16".

Have you tried the solution from the topic "Broken MAN pages??? Control Characters?"?

Using a unicode font - did you enable a unicode terminal?
Also, it could be a locale problem - does "LC_ALL=C man runscript" fix anything?

Thanks! Don't know how I missed that thread while searching. The problem was that
I had a crappy way of redefining the info line of less. After making sure that $LESS
contained -R everything got OK.
