I got a VP2290B from eBay and am trying to see if it works (the seller was a little sketchy). I plugged in the power cord to the power-adapter box, and the power end into the LCD; also screwed in the DVI in the "A" port on the monitor. I plugged in one of the two single-link DVI connectors into an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200. I know this isn't one of the cards that can run it at 41 Hz, but it should at least be able to show something on the display during startup, even if not at full resolution.
However, plugging one of the single-link connections into the Nvidia's DVI-port doesn't provide me with anything. It doesn't say "No signal" or anything. The power LED comes on, but the LCD doesn't even say "No signal". It seems like the LCD itself is broken. Because even if it doesn't work with the computer, it should say something (and I'd think that with any DVI graphics card, it would display boot-up).
What do you guys think?
Also, should I try a dual-link DVI cable? (the LCD comes with single-link, but the GPU may allow for usage of dual-link dvi). |
