Tasten auf einmal weg - tastaturlayout-änderung ?!

hi, tja, ich habe auf einmal die seltsame beobachtung gemacht das auf einmal auf meinen laptop-gentoo system die deutschen Umlaute (äöü) sowie das "ß" und die "alt gr" fehlen! Ich habe aber keine config geändert! in meiner /etc/X11/xorg.conf steht immer noch: "InputDevice" .. Option "XkbLayout" "de" Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys" .. und in meiner /etc/conf.d/keymaps steht immer noch: KEYMAP="de-latin1-nodeadkeys" Ich habe auch kein system-update ausgeführt oder ähnliches - wodurch kann diese Funktionsstörung entstanden sein? Was kann ich jetzt noch machen? gruß JKRock

Die Einträge in der /etc/X11/xorg.conf sind für X zuständig, die Einträge in /etc/conf.d/keymaps sind eben für die Console.

tja, da war meine problembeschreibung impliziter Natur, ich habe meine Einträge in xorg.conf und /etc/conf.d/keymaps aufgelistet, weil

ich weder in X noch in der konsole über die umlaute etc. zugreifen kann.

hm, das hat jetzt geklappt! Jetzt habe ich in der konsole und in X-Anwendungen wieder Zugriff auf alles! Aber warum?
Also irgendwie schein ich das Prinzip doch nicht zu verstehen, ich dachte dieser Befehl wäre jetzt gleichwertig mit dem was in der xorg.conf steht...

in die /etc/env.d/02locale ein. quelle: http://de.gentoo-wiki.com/Utf8#Tastatur-Konfiguration bzw http://de.gentoo-wiki.com/Utf8#.2Fetc.2Flocale.gen
dann env-update und source /etc/profile
wenn das nicht hilft evtl mal neustarten obs dann geht. eigentelich sollte POSIX _nicht_ richtig sein oder irre ich mich?
