the last couple weeks i have very weird bandwidth problems.
a single https/ftp/usenet download creeps at 20kb/s. but when i start another download both downloads max my 16Mbit ADSL Connection out. When i chancel on of the Downloads the other goes back to around 20kb/s. This is odd enough, but the following stunned me totally. When i run something cpu intensive like compile a kernel or emerge something a single download speeds to maximal bandwidth, when i stop the cpu intensive job it goes back to 20kb/s.
I am totally clueless what the problem could be.
The Gentoo Box acts as a nat router for some Windows Workstations. The Effects are the same whether the download is on Windows or Gentoo direct.
