Hello All!
I got installed qmail with SA but I got some problems. I really do nothing about SA config, so this is first question. Is there any possibility to get any docs for newbie? How to configure it, etc. I check my e-mail addy and I get 10-20 spam e-mails a day:(
Second question... Recently I found something that make me crazy! I got spam from...my account! How could this happen? E-mail body is:

I checked checked this links on my second machine and they are valid MSN links. WTF? How to stop spam sending from my account?
And one more question. This time only about qmail. I got tons of e-mails with qmail-queue to be sent. But some of them are not delivered. Where can I found why? I meant, any log file, etc.

SpamAssassin on its own will do very little to prevent spam - it does need to be configured. There are many, many modules available for SA. The most popular are probably DCC, Pyzor and Razor2.
There are many instructions on the web available for setting up SpamAssassin. As well as the SpamAssassin website, there's an official Gentoo Mail Filtering Guide as well as a range of articles on Gentoo Wiki.
Another thing to note is that SpamAssassin won't get everything. You will still get spam, just less of it (assuming you quarantine or delete spam - you can also just have it marked, which is very useful when initially setting it up). |
