Bonjour,

J'ai un souci d'affichage avec firefox et d'autre applications dont le point commun c'est qu'ils sont basés sur GTK+.
L'affichage demande énormément de CPU, ce qui n'est pas le cas des applis QT.
J'ai le même problème sur mes deux PC qui ont pas plus de deux ans...
Si quelqu'un a une solution, je suis preneur...

Salut, un emerge --info, et les use flag de x11-libs/gtk+ peuvent peut-être nous en dire plus.

Bon voilà... ça fait des jours que je cherche et toujours rien !

Dans une bonne partie des cas firefox est plutôt assez fluide sauf par exemple dans le cas suivant :
- quand je scroll dans un div (overflow:auto), ou le déplacement est vraiment extrêmement lent (déplacement : 10px à la seconde).
- j'ai le même problème dans la fenêtre des modules complémentaire.

Avec Opera et konqueror et même seamonkey c'est fluide !

:cry: :cry: :cry: je ne me laisserais pas abattre pour autant mais ça m'énerve car sous windows C'est FLUIDE :( !

bon voilà, là JE SÈCHE... :(

EDIT 1 : infos complémentaire :
sur mon turion64 dans les deux cas ci-dessus ça rame à mort (CG Nvidia 8400M G (de la merde quoi...), glxgears : 11352 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2270.399 FPS)
sur mon amd64x2 c'est un peut mieux... (CG nvidia 7600GT (mieux :) ) glxgears : 3 à 4 X plus rapide que la 8400M G)

J'avais des problèmes avec Firefox (lenteur, pic cpu) lorsque je fréquentais des sites avec des gifs animés (principalement des forums donc), le cpu s'emballait au moindre smiley animé. Pour moi la solution a été de recompiler Firefox et d'autres applis reposant sur Gecko avec les USE FLAGS suivant : "xulrunner -firefox -seamonkey"...
Maintenant, je sais pas si ça peut aider...

peut-être est-ce également un problème de pilotes... Les séries 8xxx et 9xxx de NVidia sont réputées pour avoir des problèmes de lenteurs 2D avec les pilotes proprio, les threads à ce sujets sur nvnews sont assez éloquent...

Sinon, poste le contenu de /var/log/Xorg.0.log et de /etc/X11/xorg.conf pour voir s'il y a des warnings ou des erreurs....

Pour les USE flags, je ne vois pas de différences énormes, j'ai juste activé le flag xcb mais je ne sais pas si ça joue une importance quelconque, vu que c'est pour remplacer xlib à terme ça peut éventuellement jouer... Mais activer ce flag doit nécessiter une recompilation de plusieurs paquetages de xorg.

Je dirais de peut-être essayer d'autres pilotes (nv ou nouveau) temporairement pour voir si le problème n'est pas dû aux pilotes ou à une configuration de ceux-ci, sinon peut-être activer xcb et recompiler les paquetages qui ont ce USE flag...

Pour firefox le défilement doux était activé, je l'ai donc désactivé et ça va un peu mieux. Seulement on est encore loin de l'affichage de konqueror ou opera...

C'est ce que j'essaye de faire seulement c'est dans une appli que je développe et je suis en trais d'essayer de reproduire le problème dans une page simple que je pourrais mettre en ligne...
