I just got my basic system up and running after some hardware.. more correctly bios problems.
And i must say although I enjoy the way gentoo works alot there is just a part of me that asked why can't half this have been done automatically?
For example the setup of networking in the beginning could have easily been done by some sort of a configuration program.
I am not asking just because I am an lazy ass but because I can't for the life of me suggest this distro to anyone I know! They'll never get past the first part without quitting and going back to something less brothersome like redhat.
So although it might pains some hardcore hackers here but if gentoo can get some nice eye candy on install it could be very nice. |

This has been beat to death before. Search the archives. No need to re-hash this debate again. Locking thread.
