the above message comes up many times.
this happens without any obvious crash or any other message.
mainly when trying to open home folder with konqueror or knqueror itself.
any pointers for help?
right now i am running emerge -Ne konqueror
i think i should have done emerge -Ne world.
now that more than 180 files of 288 already emerged.
what can be done? _________________ reach out a little bit more to catch it (DON'T BELIEVE the advocate part under my user name) |

I have exactly the same problem and no idea why. I checked for bad RAM, but it is ok. Has anyone solved this problem? |

I used to have this same problem for about 4 months. It was just more than a hassle than anything because I would just have to logout and log back in to fix it. What I did to fix my problem was from the HOWTO NetworkManger article on gentoo-wiki.com. I added the following to the file /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf
send host-name "YOUR_HOSTNAME";
supersede host-name "YOUR_HOSTNAME";
This of course implies you are using NetworkManager. Hope this helps. |
