I have a Sierra Wireless USB device to connect to the Internet. I have created an initscript to start and stop the Internet connection, which works properly. How can I get this service to start automatically whenever I plug it in or start the computer with it attached? |

ifplugd might be able to help, but I'm not sure if it will work with your custom init scripts. |

The USB device shows up as /dev/ttyUSB0 when I plug it in, and then the initscript starts a PPP session on that port; it has nothing to do with the networking system until after the initscript is already started. Unfortunately, this means that it doesn't generate the events that ifplugd uses. |
