I have a bad encoded video. Means, the faces are really long and really thin. I was searching a lot in that "small" manual of mplayer, but my efforts were not really be successful.
Is there a chance to change the dimensions of a video manually when playing back in mplayer? I don't want to reencode that video.

Yeah, there are numerous options, but without knowing exactly what aspect ratio that particular file has and should have, you'll probably need to play around with the settings yourself.
For starters, the -aspect flag, try "-aspect 16:9", which is what you'll want if the file is supposed to be anamorphic widescreen (as used in dvd video, where video is encoded at 4:3 but "squashed" so it can be streched to 16:9 upon playback). _________________ "You have to invite me in" |

Thx it's working. It's in credible. Apart of 19:9 it's also possible to use 16:8, 16:7 a.s.o. |
