|
|
Hi all,
I tried to do "emerge -e world" after upgrading portage (have 1.4-rc4 installed) and also changing CFLAGS from -march=i686 to -mcpu=pentium3. After running for a few hours, the process stopped with an error message about the xmms package's md5 sum not matching the digest.
I would like to complete the process but "emerge -ep world" shows that the process would start from scratch. I wonder if its possible to restart the process from where it failed or if not, whats the best way to do emerge -e world to avoid a complete re-run? And how can check all the packages in distfiles for integrity?
My thanks in advance! _________________ Regards

Thanks! I should keep my eyes more open when I read docs ...
I tried it but it says there is nothing to resume. I wonder if this is because I did an emerge -u world to upgrade some packges, after emerge -e world stopped? Or perhaps emerge -e world did complete, giving me the error message at the end? Checking the time stamps of some binaries shows that some are dated at the original install and some are dated today.
Thanks again. _________________ Regards

it resumes the last emerge you did. Therefore if the last emerge you did completed sucsessfully then there is nothing to resume, and you will have to do emerge -e world again _________________ 95% of all computer errors occur between chair and keyboard (TM)

The resume information is stored in /var/cache/edb, so reboot should be ok. |
