I have had this strange behaviour with my volume controls since I installed Gentoo. It is sometimes the case that when I try to change volume, sound just vanishes from one of the channels. So, I have then sound only from the left or the right speaker. Funny thing is that I manage to fix it by just reducing the volume to zero and then increasing it again several times, not a very handy solution but it works.
Any idea why this might be happening?

Someone please suggest a solution, I have no volume in the right channel and this is really irritating me.
EDIT: This is happening only with flash videos.

There seemed to be a problem with netscape-flash, reemerging it solved the problem.
