Hello, anyone know of a straight forward method of sharing file between linux host and windows guest with virtualbox binary version?

Hello, ok i have created a shared folder and have found i need to run:

Code:

net use p: \\vboxsvr\mySharedFolderName


but how to find what vboxsvr address is?

Looking in network places in windows i can see network

Code:

\\Winxp-hamlet


but trying

Code:

net use p: \\Winxp-hamlet\network_storage


gives system error 67 network not found

Hi it is pretty simple. Start VB go to Settings -> Shared Folders. On the right side you have an icon 'Add a new shared folder'. Later on windows you can access it over //vboxsvr/name_of_your_folder.

Just type \\vboxsvr\YourSharedFolderName in explorer. Or go over 'My Network Places' -> 'Entire Network' -> 'VirtualBox Shared Folders'.

Thanks for reply, that is just it, i have created the shared folder in VM setup it is called 'network_storage' but when i try load it by any method it is not found?

tried your suggestion

No worreis \\vboxsvr\ needed to be upper case :)
