Hi,
yesterday I splitted my kde installation into single packages and deinstalled the monolithic packages.
But when I do emerge --update --newuse --deep --pretend world the system always wants to install kdebase.
How can I remove it from the world update? Why does it always reappear?
Thanks for your comments... _________________ AMD Threadripper 2920X - X399 Designaire - 16384 MB

Post the output of emerge -pvuDt world, so that which package is still dependent upon kde-base/kdebase can be determined.
Note that this type of problem has been encountered repeatedly in the past, once this specific case has been resolved it will be filed as a duplicate of those prior instances. |

desultory,
thank you for the reply. emerge -pvuDt world listed kdeadmin, which I "replaced" by kuser.
By that the problem could be fixed...

Sorry but I was not able to find some related threads - I'll try better next time. _________________ AMD Threadripper 2920X - X399 Designaire - 16384 MB |

Not finding the discussion of the class of problems when searching for information about a specific instance is neither surprising nor uncommon.
Now to fill in the boilerplate.
This issue has already been discussed in the topic "Blockers in KDE 3.4.1", where it was summarized by Headrush; and it is also covered in The KDE Configuration HOWTO.
Moved from Desktop Environments to Duplicate Threads. |
