I have actually emerged it, but the problem comes when I try to run it. It claims the executable is missing. I've retried twice already, and still the same errors.

And yes, I have gtk2 in my USE.
Any ideas?

Pidgin requires the gtk USE flag be set in order to build the graphical client and the ncurses USE flag to be set in order to build the textual client that, if memory serves, is called "finch". Personally, I think this should be mentioned in the elog comments. It's confusing. :?
