On the guide to installing via liveUSB it says one of the requirements is a computer with linux on it to prepare the usb. Is there any way to prepare it without a linux box that anyone is aware of? If not could it be done through a system booted with knoppix? |

I would imagine that it would work with almost any LiveCD. After reading the USB guide, all you really need are some basic Linux commands that are found on pretty much all distros. I'm almost positive that you could do it through Knoppix. Ubuntu would be another good one. If you have a Gentoo LiveCD already, you could even use that.
