Hi there,
I want to know if i have all the necessary drivers and options in the kernel config to run a nfs client and an nfs server on my gentoo box.
Here is the output of grep NFS .config (from /usr/src/linux of course):
CONFIG_NFS_FS=m
CONFIG_NFS_V3=y
# CONFIG_NFS_V3_ACL is not set
# CONFIG_NFS_V4 is not set
# CONFIG_NFS_DIRECTIO is not set
# CONFIG_NFSD is not set
CONFIG_NFS_COMMON=y
I think that CONFIG_NFSD should be set.Am i right?.Sorry for not using code blocks.Thankx in advance

Here's my .config snippet for nfs.
Code:
# Network File Systems
#
CONFIG_NFS_FS=y
CONFIG_NFS_V3=y
# CONFIG_NFS_V3_ACL is not set
# CONFIG_NFS_V4 is not set
# CONFIG_NFS_DIRECTIO is not set
CONFIG_NFSD=y
CONFIG_NFSD_V3=y
# CONFIG_NFSD_V3_ACL is not set
# CONFIG_NFSD_V4 is not set
CONFIG_NFSD_TCP=y
CONFIG_ROOT_NFS=y
CONFIG_LOCKD=y
CONFIG_LOCKD_V4=y
CONFIG_EXPORTFS=y
CONFIG_NFS_COMMON=y

Hope it helps

Blessed be!
Pappy

Your configuration should be fine for just a client. CONFIG_NFSD is only needed if you intend to run an NFS server.
