Greetings all...
When I try and run ccsm from the konsole I get the following error message:
Quote: | Traceback (most recent call last):

import gtk
File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/gtk-2.0/gtk/__init__.py", line 38, in ?

I have looked through the forums but couldn't find anyone that has had problems with _gobject.so and ccsm before. I suspect that it may have something to do with me updating to the latest PyQt4? In any case I tried to re-emerge python gtk+ and pygtk but this did not solve the problem.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Which version of compiz-fusion are you using? I remember seeing that awhile ago but the current version in desktop-effects overlay works great. Maybe you can give it a try. |

At the moment I have:
x11-wm/compiz-fusion-0.6.0
I will update my overlays and let you know. Thanks. |

Added the desktop-effects overlay and updated to ccsm-0.7.6
Still get the same error message though, any ideas??
In the process of updating compiz, installed the latest version of libX11, and now get the following error when I want to run blender:
Quote: |
guessing 'blender' == '/usr/bin/blender'
Compiled with Python version 2.4.
Checking for installed Python... got it!
libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x4b

I wish there were someone who could help me with this...
Anyways I will keep trying to see what I can do to fix this, and if I make any progress I will post it up here so that others can learn from it.
[SOLVED]
Finally fixed the error with ccsm. All I had to do was to re-emerge dev-python/pygobject and now ccsm works once again. As for the drm problem, I will have to keep trying and if nothing comes of that I will open another post. |
