new wireless router/firewall/NAS/Jukebox

Hi,

Currently I have a monowall firewall, a dlink wireless AP, a couple of switches and a cable modem.

I am looking to change this into a PC acting as a wireless router and building the switches inside the PC case running off the power supply to cut down on wiring in the limited space i have. In addition to this Id lik eit to have the functionality of the monowall firewall whilst giving me the option to run jinzora (or similar) torrent and usenet downloads via a webfront end and also a NAS. I should also say id perhaps look at adding Webmin, squid and snort to this box

IS there any security risks with the above? Also with WLAN cards are compatible with master mode for reasonable cost.

Would anyone advise against Gentoo for this box given it's bleeding edge reputation and possible problematic upgrades.
