DMA disabled after portage update

Hi,

I just did an emerge -u world. It had been a while so it took a while to update everything. Now what I did notice is that now when I boot up it gives me a message that says that my dma is disabled on my HD and the computer may run slower. This is the first time I've seen this and it happened after the update.

Ok two questions. How do I enable the DMA and second how do I do it at startup so I won't get that message anymore.
