|
|
Well, I was just wondering if there were any specific commands to help the performance of a cdrom out, (make it faster). I have a Lite-On 40x12x48 burner and it is on /dev/scd0. The performance is ok but it seems it runs faster under a win environment. Is there a way to extract more performance from the cdrom kida like the hard drives with hdparm. Or is there a different way to do this.
Any info is appreciated. |

One issue with regards to cdrom speed is a kernel issue limiting the speeds of cdrom devices. This has been fixed to a degree in the new 2.6 kernel series. The changes
and problems are discussed in the post halloween document for the 2.5 kernel.

for hard drive speeds, hdparm is useful. _________________ Technology should be indistinguishable from magic. |
