I guess it's really updates that are fixing things. I update about weekly, but over time a number of tiny issues had popped up that I didn't have the motivation to fix. During booting long pauses would occur during kernel ACPI and when starting HAL. More annoyingly, mplayer would crash X at the end of videos. Well happily all these problems seem to have vanished without any troubleshooting on my part. Yay updates!
This is particularly nice as I consider less time intensive flavors of linux after trading part time work at home for full time work away from home. |

When things break I usually wait for the update which normally comes the next day in portage. Thanks Devs for making my life easier!! |
