How one can join gentoo for maintaining ebuilds officially. What is the procedure or format for this.
And whom one should contact for this?
Then if i join , an i have direct access in uploading ebuilds ? |

I think your best bet is to sign up on bugs.gentoo.org and start doing ebuild maintanence there. As far as I know, Gentoo mostly uses an invite-system when it comes to developers. Do some useful work for awhile, and people will notice. |

here's what most people do, submit ebuilds to bugzilla - once you posted enough good ebuilds, you might get invited to get one of those spiffy email addys |

As the other folks have noted, the best way to become a gentoo developer is to hit bugzilla, start picking off bugs and you'll get noticed. That is how 90%+ of our developers get recruited to the team.

I am just curious to know:

Referrals from other developers, mostly.

And sending me a large quantity of money won't hurt you chances, either.

Me: Does someone want to order CD-Rs with me?
Someone: You won't get any discount.
