PPPoE server problem

  • Quote

Post by Kobboi » Thu Mar 20, 2008 3:23 pm

I'm trying to have a PPPoE server running on one of my Ethernet interfaces ("TEST"), but after some messing around, I still can't get it to work. Needed or not, my current configuration includes: a 2.6.23 kernel with everything related to PPP enabled, rp-pppoe-3.8-r1, ppp-2.4.4-r14.

Configuring a client and trying to start a PPPoE session results in:
- PADI-PADO-PADR-PADS sequence
- a PPP LCP configuration request from the client

Alas, the latter remains unanswered by my server.

In more detail:

Code: Select all

pppoe-server -I TEST -L 10.10.10.1 -R 10.10.10.2

Code: Select all

# cat /var/log/ppp.log
using channel 49
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/3

One of the things I don't understand is that I don't see any traffic being sent from the server, on either of its interfaces, even though there are numerous send events in the log file.
