I am having a devil of a time getting my system to read a Kingston SD/MMC card on a usb connector.
I have read, search and compiled everything I can think of.
Data gathered by booting WITHOUT the key/SD/MMC and then plugging it in.
Second time resulted in the bottom data where it appeared, but cound not be accessed.

Please help.

I had a similar problem once with a USB stick and it turned out the stick had a defect... have you eliminated the possibility that it is a hardware defect? It could be the card itself, or the card reader, or the usb connector. I would try to mount it with another system (e.g. an Ubuntu live cd) just to see if it works. If it does, your problem lies elsewhere. If it doesn't, I'd try to find another computer with another card reader to see if it's your hardware or your MMC/SD card itself (i.e., if it works on another box, then it must be your hardware, otherwise it's the card...). If it's your hardware, try another card reader, or another usb connector if you haven't already...

einheitlix,
thanks for your response. I tested the SD/MMC key on a windows machine and it performed correctly, so it is not a hardware problem.

Not sure if this helps, but have you tried not to use
Code:
USB selective suspend/resume and wakeup (EXPERIMENTAL)
in kernel .config-> Device Drivers->USB Support

Although it worked for my built in Card Reader I found out that your problem might be a problem with power supply. (http://forums.fedoraforum.org/printthread.php?t=182049)
It might also help using the card reader on a different usb port.
Do you connect the reader via a hub or is it directly connected to your computer ?
