Well, since it's been a week with any comment: I'll drop working on that, since interesst seems to be less than nonexisting.

Sorry eGore, didn't realise you wanted reviews. I haven't looked at it, because I didn't see what it was offering over bugzilla.

Maybe I will when I get a free moment.

I does not really offer anything better than bugzilla, but it's much simpler than searching for ebuilds of games in bugzilla

Looked at the site - very pretty egore - but I would have thought you'll put too much effort in for the result you'll get. But it's very nice!

I've recently tried Transcend, and it's pretty nice. Quite refreshing. Already has an ebuild request pending.

The other thing I've found quite interesting is Mana World - it's a slash'n'dash (whatever that means) MMORPG that looks exactly like the SNES classic The Secret of Mana ...but maybe it's still in too early development to be put into portage.

ZDaemon is a fun client/server version of Doom with experience points and a large community.

GZLauncher is a GTK2+ ZDaemon launcher/game browser, which is pretty much required to play the game.

I miss an ebuild for flightgear 0.9.5 and 0.9.6-rc1. I tried renaming the 0.9.4 ebuild but emerge dies in the src_install part.

And: how about a space combat ebuild?

There is a ebuild on bugs.gentoo.org. Im trying it right now.

Another game not in portage is Virtuial Advanced Squard Leader. Its a cool boardgame and the multiplayer online version is fun, too. I made some ebuild for it:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44805
but these need some finetuning ...
EDIT: The homepage of VASL is: http://vasl.org

http://www.agigames.com/index.php?action=games&option=browse_agi

I'm not sure where these would fit in, They are all games that would work on linux they are complete, I can't belive an e-build would be all that tricky.

Oh yeah they are AGI games, those who know know

xcheckers
and/or

Dungeon Crawl is an excellent game in it's own, but it would feel somewhat incomplete to me

Poker3d, looks like a very nice multiplayer poker game (with holdem, stud, etc) in 3D.

gGo
If anyone else plays go this is a cool front-end for gnugo and it is also a IGS Client. It is writen in java, so that is the only requirement i can think of.

I second this. Wasn't in portage or bugzilla last time I checked (Roughly a week ago). Guess there just arn't many people interested in Go :P

Maybe someone could write an ebuild for Quarry

Quarry is a multi-purpose GUI for several board games, at present Go (GnuGo), Amazons and Othello. It allows users to play against computer players (third-party programs, e.g. GNU Go) or other humans, view and edit game records.

I'm making one now. :) Didn't want to try one for gGo or Jago, they're java apps, that looked hard. But quarry, I think I can do. I'll pm you a link to it's bugzilla entry whenever I finish.

Edit: Doh! Apparently it's already in bugzilla, but it's an older version (0.1.6, latest is 0.1.9). From what I understand from reading the comments, it won't be added to portage until a "stable" release is, well, released. 0.2 is expected to be stable. I guess we'll just have to wait. If you want my ebuild for 0.1.9, just pm me. It's nice to be able to play Go without booting off my Hikarunix cd :)
