hello,

I wanted to set up my tv card (terratec ciergy tv 400, saa7134 chip).
As gentoo-wiki says, my card needs the saa7134 kernel module.
Code:
  Multimedia devices  --->
    <M> Video For Linux (config: CONFIG_VIDEO_DEV, module: videodev)
      Video capture adapters  --->
        <M> Philips SAA7134 support (config: CONFIG_VIDEO_SAA7134, module: saa7134)

I couldn't find this in menuconfig :?
Putting CONFIG_VIDEO_SAA7134 into .config manually also didn't work.

Was this module taken out of the kernel?

PS: kernel version: 2.6.23-r9

you are probably missing another option somewhere else...

Or, try the mercurial branch of v4l - v4l-dvb-hg should have it, otherwise grab it yourself.

You *may* have to roll back your kernel version - at least for my card (em2880) it seems like a possibility.

thanks, v4l-dvb-hg recognizes my card, /dev/video* now shows up.
kaffeine however doesn't recognize the card. I'll try mythtv instead

also, give tvtime a whirl...

...seems to be the best for analog viewing.
