I encounter this error when emerging xfree 4.3.0-r3

I have the same problem. It is keeping me from emerging a *very* large number of packages!

Help!! :roll:

There should be a fix on the way, but meanwhile just grab the 4.3.0-r2.

I've run into this problem too. After an emerge sync I had other problem with one of the fonts I think. I re-emerged perl em after that xfree was merged without any problems. Donno if will help.
