I don't know if I am the only one, but I would like to see FreeSwan in to the portage system.

So I could build a kernel with ipsec capabilities. So I could make my Virtual Private Network connections again with my friends.

Are there more fans of freeswan?
Take a look at: http://www.freeswan.org

FreeSwan support would be great. Have you considered writing the ebuild scripts and submitting it back to the gentoo project?

I did. But I couldn't compile it into the gentoo kernel. When compiling it intoo the kernel he said he couldn't find gmp.h :(

So I was hoping someone els wrote the ebuild scripts...

GMP is a library for arbitrary precision arithmetic. In the portage tree it lives under devel-libs/gmp and freeswan would depend on that.
Try "emerge gmp" before you build freeswan and things should be better.
I don't know how to make ebuild files yet but I'll study on.

Thanks alx!

I am compiling freeswan again (it should be working now after I merged gmp)

When I have time (I am very busy right now) I'll take a look at making a ebuild too.

Thankx again
