|
|
Hi,
I'm using Mozilla-Firebired 0.6-r5 and getting weird behaviour where it works fine and then all of a suddenly I cannot input text into any input box, not even the location bar.
I remember having something similar years back with Netscape 4.x...
Anyone know whats wrong? |

I sometimes have the same prob, however minimizing it and bringing it up again solves the prob for me.

do you have any extensions installed? there are several broken extensions ou there that seem to do this alot, the download progressbar is among them (alas, i wish it weren't), the mouse gestures ones are also broken... try disabling these if you have them installed... |

Same problem here, BUT i fixed it(tm)! (warning: your mileage may vary )
I re-emerge MozillaFirebird without the gtk2 support. It had no impact on how it looks (since it uses it's own skins). you can do this by setting the "USE="-gtk2 gtk" flags. Not sure if that even did anything, maybe all it needs is a good recompile
I do remember a bit back that Mozilla had some trouble with GTK2, but i was under the assumption it got fixed. Maybe later on i guess. _________________ You are unique ... just like everyone else. |

i had a problem with text input in gecko based browsers once and discovered that it was caused by not having esd running. weird, but worked for me _________________

I suspected gtk2 also...
If you compile without gtk2 will the anti-aliased fonts and xft still work? |
