After running emerge, at one time I got 32 files to update( the number is probably wrong since I counted only around 12 files). My question is how do I know if a file needs to be updated? Once I updated everything and the fstab was messed up badly and I lost the /usr. _________________ bluesky "free as the wind"

Did you search the forums before posting? update config returned alot of good threads with ready answers. for example this
