Really, I'd just like to express my thanks to all the devs and anyone else who contributes to Gentoo. All this recent heated talk about forks, management issues etc. makes for a lot of reading and fraying tempers at times. Sometimes it seems that the human effort and tender loving care given is missed from the conversations.

Nothing in this world is perfect, but:

Thank you for a great operating system, unique, fun and flexible!

Simply, thank you.

Sorry - I need to update my info. Am living in another state due to closing of Pfizer site in Ann Arbor. I don't have any info for you, sadly. :(

I would specifically like to thank the people who finally updated the Gentoo web site. Three controversial issues were addressed: the status of the 2007.1 release, the "weekly" newsletter, and the Gentoo Foundation debacle. It's important to have the information out there to prevent the spread of FUD, even if the information is simply, "we know there's a problem and we're working on it." Gentoo is alive and (almost) well, and we don't need the public out there thinking it's dead.

How about we make this the "thanks" thread and keep the arguments in other places?

I want to say thanks too. Never had any major problems, and gentoo have been rock solid for me. And those instances when I have had problems have been easy to fix. Good and helpful community if you encounter a problem.

I hope gentoo will remain this way.

thanks to everyone who makes this distro run

there's simply no other/better than gentoo

its diversity of configurability, tweakability and security hasn't been reached by any other of those retort distros out there which I tested so far

keep on trucking - gentoo :)

You got it.
That's on of the few bad things about Gentoo: No release partys! 8O

Wait a minute, kde-4.0 was added to the tree today.. Let's go!
