new boot cd

Is there any other place to get that iso? Has anyone got it already and could keep ftp site up?

There seems to be gcc 3.1 in that iso right?Why?If I have understood right all programs don't like this new gcc....yet?

Hi,

with my slow ISDN-connection at home, it is impossible to install Gentoo in a reasonable amount of time (and money :wink:

). The idea of burzmali was great to put the most important packages on a CD - is there a version 1.4 available? His FTP server seams to be online only for some hours a day - is there a way to get an already burned CD?

In some posts of this forum, there was a hint, that such a "package-collection-CD" will be officially available on the Gentoo-WWW-pages. What is the current status of this?

i have a new stage 1 tar ball for x86 with all the distfiles you need to do a bootstrap and build the following apps included:
kde WindowMaker nvidia-glx system baselayout
portage gettext binutils gcc glibc texinfo
zlib ncurses emu10k1 gnome

it is at ftp://ftp.burzmali.net/pub/
my server will be on 10:00am to ~6:00pm mon - fri california time.
it is 425 mb.
*this is NOT a bootable iso, it is a stage1 tarball*
