Hi,
My USB automounter seems to be broken. It used to work a before, however I don't know if/what I changed since then.
The device gets recognized and a device in /dev gets added. It won't get mounted however.
Code: | # lshal -m
Start monitoring devicelist:

I'm in the plugdev, usb, cdrom groups. udev and HAL daemons are both running. I'm running Gnome -> Preferences / Removable Drives and Media "Mount removable drive when plugged" is checked.
I searched the forums and tried the tips I saw there to no avail. Any ideas?

Resloved.
When I unchecked and rechecked the box in Removable Drives/Media settings, I could see that it spawned a new process that wasn't there before: gnome-volume-manager. With this process running, automount works again.
Looks like I removed that process at one point from starting automatically when I log in. So it was purely my fault :/
My only other problem is that my USB hard disk gets mounted automatically when I log in, although I don't want this. Any way to disable it? |
