I've been looking all over for a few hours for this info, and thought someone here might know the answer. I am running 2.5.73-mm1. I have compiled everything under i2c as a module. I can modprobe my particular chip (via686a) and it is loaded.

From what I've read, both the i2c and lm-sensors ebuild will not work with the latest kernel. Checking lm-sensors homepage tells me that the i2c work is being done directly in the kernel sources for 2.5.x. So, I inject i2c and go to emerge lm-sensors. It tells me that my kernel version is wrong, or i2c is compiled into the kernel (of which I have verified that none of it is..)

Is there a patch I need to install for i2c on a dev-kernel? Will lm-sensors even work? If not, is there a work around so I can monitor CPU temp (which is what this is all about, really..)

This reminds me of the same problems facing pcmcia...

Help!!!

M
